  4. The back story is simple; when those fireworks lit up the sky in blue at our Gender Reveal party, there was no debate and it wasn’t up for discussion. My husband told the world we were having a Junior! It’s our first baby after 12 years of marriage (IVF Baby). I wasn’t going to die on that hill and I actually like his name, it’s a strong name! And our baby boy is perfect! I’m sure it’s not surprising to hear he looks so much like his Dad.

  9. George was on the top of both our lists It’s a family name. We call him Georgie a lot. When I got pregnant with George, it was pretty unexpected. George is a classic honeymoon baby, we were planning to wait a couple of years, but we were excited nevertheless. My husband mother really wanted me to name him, Charles, a family name on my husband’s side, I really didn’t like the name, and George Charles is too many references to the royal family on top of that my sister had an abusive boyfriend named Charles who is the Name-that-should-not-be-spoken in my parent’s house. So my husband and I wanted a name similar to Charles to please her. So we chose Carl, I thought it was nice, George Carl, I thought it was sweet with Nora, (The name I picked out if we had a girl and still on the top of both of our lists.) and now five years later, I’m coming back and pregnant looking for a middle name for my second child, Nora. We have done great since George was born, I’m a full stay-at-home Mom. My husband’s career has taken off and we are really happy and ready to bring another human being into this world.

  10. He has two older brothers, so we were running out of good names that we both liked. I was scrolling through baby name lists when I came across George I had never considered it before. I asked my husband and he was like “I like that, that was my Dad’s middle name!” Our oldest son is Theodore after his Grandpa, so I thought it was a great fit. We chose Henry as a middle name because my Husband has french roots and it was important to him. We thought about spelling it with an I, Henri but we thought it would be a bit much.

  11. I’m pregnant at the minute. We are so so excited, my partner’s name is George his father, grandfather and great-grandfather were all called George too. So to us it was a no-brainer didn’t need a second thought. I love the name and it’s not very commonly used anymore. ?

    • It’s not very common but is still a classic and I think is a good name for all phases of life. We named our son George after my grandfather, so I am biased!

  17. George is a family name which was motivation to use it. And we also really like more traditional names and gender specific names. One thing I have loved is that everyone knows how to spell it! When I first took him to his pediatrician, the receptionist asked, “Is his name spelled the way it sounds?” and I said “YES!” One of the biggest reasons we like the name George is the simplicity of knowing he’s a boy, how to spell it and how to say it!
