My name is Paige. I never thought it was a very special name just different. I could never have a short version of my name or a nick name derived from the name Paige as it only had one syllable. Unlike Patrica who could also be called Trish, Trisha Pat, or Patty( my mother’s name).people have always commented that it was a beautiful name or unique. Funny my parents named y only sibling a sister Nancy which I thought was more common or popular, but I never knew any other Nancy’s , but at one time in highschool I went to school with 2 other Paige’s both a year older than myself. I am in my late 50’s now and still think it’s weird to hear someone use my name referring to someone else. To me it never got popular. I was always the kid who couldn’t find there name on a necklace or a name plate of some sort. There was always a Patrica or a Nancy though. I do however have a nice and her name is Paige which I think is a beautiful name you don’t hear that too often.

Paige is our third child and we’ve always picked names that are NOT in the top 100 or predicted to rise to that list. We liked the way it sounded with our other children’s names and our last name. We’ve also chosen family names for their middle names and it worked best with the middle name we chose.

Paige is our third child and since we have SO many filters we run names through we took a while to come to an agreement. I knew she would be a sweet girl with some spunk and independence. Both her siblings were winter babies and she was a summer. “Paige” felt happy and joyful and still fit our criteria of being an English/old world name that started with a vowel, didn’t rhyme with our last name, had the right amount of syllables and had a nice meaning (See that’s a lot of filters!). Paige means servant or one who serves and we knew we wanted to teach each of our children to have a heart to serve others. We also knew being the third she would be following her syblings around like a little paige so it seemed endearing too. One thing I would say is sometimes people think it’s Page but they usually ask. I don’t mind but I think it’s funny because I wouldn’t choose a name that meant a piece of paper in a book, that’s just me though!

  And a page not only means a piece of paper in a book, but also someone from royal descent which would be a servant to other royals in that family lineage, to be their servant, while being a servant to royalty was the first step in becoming a knight, it also many times required them to be the messengers of the royal family.
