  1. Husband choose it. Like how it sounded in English and Spanish. Classic and biblical name

  2. Isabel means pledged to God. We pledged our baby to God before and when she was conceived, so it was fitting! Isabel originated and was transformed from the Hebrew Elizabeth. Isabella similarly is the long version, but we wanted to keep it short and American, so we went with Isabel. Not that it matters, but it’s approval rating from family and friends is very high. It’s a beautiful name that rolls off the tongue.

  3. Made a list of names I liked while looking online then had my husband look at the list, we agreed on Isabel and gave her the nickname Izzy

  4. I personally think Isabel is a beautiful name but.but but but when my name gets called when I’m at school and we’re having a substitute they say Isabel but I like Issy

  5. It’s such a pretty and delicate name. It’s meaning is, “pledged to God”and “God is perfection”

  6. I chose Isabel because it means pledged to God and it also matches her dad’s name -Isaac. Her middle name is Dahlia which is the national flower of Mexico my birth country.

  7. Family name

  8. Isabel is a regal name that sounds feminine and classy. It comes with some cute nicknames – Belle, Isa (pronounced ee-suh), Izzy, Elly, Belly, Elle. We chose this spelling of the name because it’s less popular than the French spelling of Isabelle, which also looks a little bit more frilly and girly. Originally, my husband wanted to name our daughter Isabella, but when I told him that the name Isabella and Bella became SO popular when the Twilight books/movies came out, he decided to shorten it to Isabel.

  9. I think it’s a beautiful name and of all the names, it’s the only one that my husband and I were both in love with. I also love the nickname Izzy. When she was born, she looked like an Isabel too
