My fiancee and I had a baby list going for year before I got pregnant. I had two miscarriages prior to having Hallie and that name always rose to the top of our list over the many years of trying to conceive.

We loved the meaning, “praise the Lord” & we didn’t know any Hallie’s so it worked out great.
A few people have already asked if it’s pronounced “Haley/Hayley“. But we are good with it.

For over half of my pregnancy with her, we had picked the name Norah but it just still didn’t seem to fit. So we kept looking at all names of the alphabet and my husband and I both loved the name Hallie. We then looked up the meaning: Dweller of the Meadows, praise the Lord! After that, we just knew it was the right one. We also loved it because it’s not a very common name, just like her sister’s name: Piper. The only thing we may dislike about it is people mistaking it for Haley. Hallie Jewell was born yesterday morning with a beautiful and swift home water birth-praise the Lord!
