  1. I think it’s a strong name but your upbring moulds u not so much your name do u know what a painted warrior is though

  2. Scott is the name I was giving at birth and have answered to my hole 45 years now. I have never felt weak due to my name. Actually quite the opposite matter of fact I have always felt pretty healthy which I have never been the one to run from a fight being that I’m 5′ 11″ 215 lbs. Boxed a majority of my earlier years. And served 12.5 yes. In the Georgia Department of corrections. If anyone reading this is familiar with the penal system, you already know that it is fight or die in there.

    • I’m 66 years old and my first name is Scott and my middle name is Randall. It’s ironic that I have lived up to both of those names. According to Wikipedia our first name Scott means loyalty and strength. The 1978 I join the Marine corps and became a machine gunner. At that time I was in extreme lean 6 ft 2 , 225 lb. In the late sixties I started going by my middle name Randall. Only because I got tired of kids saying (beam me up Scotty) I grew up in the streets running with gangs doing all the bad stuff. Never back down from anything or anyone. I was always referred to as fearless. When I looked up the name Scott today and then I turned around and looked up Randall and they’re almost similar. Scott meaning loyalty and strength, Randall meaning shield and protection. I never knew the meaning of either one of those names and I know that the gentleman commented that we are products of our environment not a name. There’s a whole lot of Truth to that. But I also believe in God who created us and he knew our names before the foundation of the Earth. He designed us for who we are today. So I know for a fact because all of those meanings of those names describes exactly who I am.
      God bless!

  3. I never responded to “Scotty” either except for my mother. She’s the only one who gets away with calling me “Scotty.”

  5. I have always been proud of my name. I’m an extrovert with a very confident (not arrogant) personality. I consider myself a leader, and have always been the “strong” one in the family; one who brings others together in times of worry or crisis.

  6. The name sucks. It’s a weak name., But I’m a strong man and demand everyone pronounces my name correctly. I will not respond to Scotty, Scottish or Scotty boy.

    • I disagree regarding “Scott” being a weak name. I do, however, demand that no one can call me “Scotty” or any form such as. I like the name, and would like to see a resurgence.

      • Nothing wrong with the name Scottey
        His everyone’s mate

    • My name is Scott, and my last name is Christie so you can feel how I could feel about that but one thing I do know is that I am very strong person and I’ve been called every name in the book like scooter Scotty Scotty, Whitey, everything you can think of and it doesn’t bother me one little bit because I know they call me little nicknames that they just came up with and they mean no harm not to mention I’m a strong person you can’t hardly hurt me Sticks and stones
