  2. Elsie is a classic name. My husband’s great-grandmother was Elsie and she was a fierce woman living and raising her family on the farm that’s still in the family. I love how it is both sweet for a little girl and and elegant name to grow into.

We chose “Elsie” because it means “pledged to God” Her middle name is “Joy” so together it is “Joyfully pledged to God.” We believe that we are Elsie’s secondary parents, she firstly belongs to the Lord. We wanter her name to remind us that we are stewards and have an obligation to love her as God loves us, but also that we can surrender so many fears and anxieties to Him because He will care for her as He has for us!
    Also, my husband works at a dairy farm, and Elsie is the name of the Borden Dairy mascot which we thought was funny.
