  1. My husbands name is Wendell. He likes the name but He didn’t like his name in his youth. I think it’s a very distinguished name. It is fitting in my opinion because he loves to travel and learn. He is very confident,capable, and mysterious man that loves long walks. In so many ways he’s a wander that is wild at heart; searching for understanding, healing, peace, and the pleasures of life. He is very intelligent. I love him deeply ILYNMW.

  2. I absolutely love this name. My name is Wandile and I’ve always been drawn to the name Wendell because of its uniqueness, but also because it sounds quite similar to my own name. Lo and behold, to find that the name means ‘Wanderer’, which is what I feel like I am, in the deepest parts of my soul. I want to legally add this name to my ID.

  3. We chose Wendell for our son because we thought it was a strong but unique name. Before we were pregnant we would jokingly have name conversations and they usually lasted five minutes and us concluding that we generally would never be able to both like a name one day. After getting pregnant it just clicked though. Wendell is the man who married us middle name and it’s also the name of one of our favorite poets, Wendell Berry. We didn’t find out the gender, but we have names picked out for either and now 9 months in our Wendell fits his name super well. I can hardly recall life without little Wen next to us.

    • I have a grown son named Wendel . I love it so much and he is very handsome . We do call him Wen a lot . I did get a few negative comments which hurt me and I couldn’t understand . So wonderful to see others name this solid name . My son wears it well
