  1. My husband and I chose the name Rex because my husband’s mom’s name is Rexayn and her grandfather’s name was Rex. It’s a family name! Rex’s middle name is Wesley. My father-in-law’s middle name is Wesley, my brother-in-law’s middle name is Wesley, my husband’s middle name is Wesley, my one year oldest middle name is Wesley and now Rex’s middle name is Wesley. Again, family name! I love everything about his name and wouldn’t change a thing!

  2. We named our boy Rex and it’s so perfect. We’ve gotten a lot of compliments on his name, and I love that it feels both modern and classic. It was adorable on a baby and will be respectable on a man. There’s a certain charm to the name and to our boy, and his name fits perfectly with his sister Quinn.

  3. Rex Allan: Rex for his paternal great-grandfather and Allan for his maternal great-grandfather

  4. We named our son after my husband’s grandfather. It is a solid masculine name and we have heard comments like, “I’ve never met a Rex who was not special.” I hope it does not gain too much popularity in years to come but it is a perfect name in our eyes!

  5. We wanted a classic name that was a bit different and underused!

  6. We loved that it was one syllable, easy to say, and nickname proof. It feels strong and masculine, but also fresh and modern, despite the fact that it’s a pretty ancient word. There aren’t a a ton of Rexs out there right now, but I’ve heard people say it could be the new “Max.”

  7. Named after his grandpa who passed 5 days before he was born. So sentimental reasons. I like it because it’s a classic underused name. I thought it was really masculine which I wasn’t necessarily looking for but I like it more and more:) I also like it because it goes well w his younger sisters name which is Audrey. I love the way Rex & Audrey go together!
